1. Understand workflow

  1. Go to the settings of BizzMine by clicking on the cog-wheel cog wheel in the upper right corner of your interface.

  2. Pick a collection for which you want to configure workflow. (The form of this collection will be used through the process).

  3. Click on workflow link in the left-side menu. BizzMine will tell you that there’s no workflow found.

  4. Click on create new draft link to start creating your workflow.

  5. Once you are in the flow editor, you’ll see a few icons at the top. These elements are used to establish your flow.

Steps

step

Steps are tasks or events in your workflow with certain persons involved. For each step, you can modify your form, assign executors, set notifications and reminders, etc.

Gateways

gateway

Gateways form a decision point. You have two options:

• All following steps need to be initiated (simultaneously)

• Only the steps that meet the condition(s) are initiated.*

*You'll have to configure the "Catch All Link". Here you should indicate to which step the flow must go in case the conditions are not fully covered or satisfied. This way the flow will never get stuck and can always continue.

Swim lanes

Swim lanes are used to show the different actors that are involved in this workflow. E.g. CEO, COO, Customer Service Manager will be three different swim lanes.

Hint: Before you start drawing your workflow, think about the different steps you will need. What steps will bring you from the beginning to the end of your process? What needs to be done?

  1. You'll notice that when creating steps or clicking on a step, you have some options on the right side of your model.

  2. Once you’re ready with creating your workflow, you can validate it by clicking validate button  in the upper right corner. BizzMine will tell you whether necessary elements have been forgotten. To activate your workflow, you need to publish it by clicking publish button  in the upper right corner.

  3. As soon as your workflow is published, your collection will become a process. The table symbol workflow table icon will change into a process symbol workflow process icon  .

  4. Go on and try to go through the process you just created!
